Etsy

I have not been kidnapped, I promise!  The hubs and I have been super busy getting some things done around the house.  I have also started working FULL time.  Every night when I get home now I just want to crash.  Crashing leaves not much time for projects.  I have discovered a new love though.

Etsy.

I just love to watch the little ticker thing pop up showing what the most recently listed items are.  I didn't know some of these things existed and wow, they are great for new ideas!

Here are some of my favorite things:

Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Birdnest Pendant, White Glass Pearls, Leaf Charm

Le Jardin- Summer 2011 Vintage Collage Necklace

Napping Flamingo on the Beach 8x10 Print

LOVE flamingos!
GO TO the GYM Felt Applique Pillow 14x18 inch charcoal and fuchsia

How appropriate is this, you go to sit down on the couch and your throw pillow is telling you to do something else.

End Table

My co-worker had an end table that she no longer had use for and so graciously donated it to me.  I forgot to take a before picture but it was the same table, just silver.  I repainted it with some turquoise oops paint I had and that still was not doing it for me.  So, I took some mahogany stain and started to brush it on the legs with a paint brush and then wiped it off with a paper towel.  I learned that it was actually easier to just use the paper towel (while it had some stain on it) instead of the brush on the whole table because then I was able to skip a step!

You're so vain...

This is one of the vanities I picked up from my major Craigslist finds

Notice the pup tied to the tree in the background...this is the only way I can
get work done when my husband is at work.  She loves it though...I promise!

I lightly sanded the whole thing and then primed it.  I let that dry for about an hour and then started going to town with white paint.  During this process I learned that you get what you pay for.  I bought some cheapy white paint because, hey it's just white paint.  DO NOT DO THAT!  I had to put about 4 coats on this crazy thing!

After I was finished painting I put new hardware on all of the drawers.

Then I took a sander and roughed up some of the edges to give it that "shabby chic" look.  That was kind of stressful!  I didn't want it to look soooo shabby that someone would want to repaint it, but I didn't want it to look super brand new.  Here is the finished product.

The bench was supposed to go with this vanity but it sold before I could get the vanity to the booth!
