Nightstand Redo

I found this nightstand on Craigslist for a great price.  When I emailed the guy he wanted to meet somewhere so I had him meet me at my work.  Easiest purchase ever!  All I had to do was sit at work and work while waiting for him and he dropped it off for me!  Score!

This project took place back when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant so the husband was feeling sweet and sanded the heck out it since it was pretty beat up.  After he did the hard part I primed it using spray paint primer.  Then I painted it with some white paint and a roller.  Apparently I was using a super cheap roller and it looked horrible so I just took a paint brush to it for 2 coats.  I also found the knobs at Hobby Lobby.

Here it is in it's nice little spot in our guest bedroom.

Coaster Revamp

I had these coasters that I bought years ago at Ross and they just weren't jiving with me anymore.  Lucky for me I also had some leftover fabric, a jar of modge podge, and a foam brush.  Sounds like a recipe for new coasters to me!

I just laid the coaster on top of my fabric and traced it lightly with a pen.  Then I cut it out and applied a layer of modge podge to the coaster, then applied the fabric, then applied more modge podge to the top of the fabric. I just let them dry on the counter and within a few hours we had some "new" coasters!

Reusing Old Art

I've had this piece of "art" for many years and I really like the frame but I'm not diggin' the palm tree so much anymore.

I didn't want the frame to go to waste so I ripped the paper off the back of the frame and was able to get the palm tree picture out.  I then used a printable I found online and just used a normal printer, printed it, used some scrapbook tape and centered it in the frame.  Put it all back together and now we have a totally new look!  Best part is....it didn't cost a darn thing!
