Getting Organized

Since it's getting darker a lot sooner I've been trying to figure out a way to stay motivated by the time I get home from work.  For some reason I associate darkness outside to being on the couch with the TV on inside.

So I've devised a plan.  It's a simple idea but actually carrying it out is a bit more difficult.  Every Monday I type up a list for each day of that week.  Under each day I list out what needs to get done/events going on.  After I have it typed up and printed I hang it on the fridge.  Whenever we get something done we get to cross it off.  Of course the goal each day is to get everything crossed off.  Last week was the first week trying it out and we did pretty good.  Since my husband and I are both firstborns we found ourselves trying to get more things done than what was on the list.  Whatever works, right?!

Here is our list for this week:
- Mike finish his exam
- bake Chocolate Chip Muffins (Megg)
- clean up ornament mess on kitchen table (Megg)

Sorry for the boring post lacking in pictures and anything fun, but this is a huge step in the right direction to help us get things completed around the house.  What do you do to stay motivated?
